Prerequisites for Using the Data Processing Engine Edits Prebuilt App

Prerequisites for Using the Data Processing Engine Edits Prebuilt App

Review these prerequisites before you deploy and use the Data Processing Engine Edits prebuilt app.

Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions that have Rebate Management enabled.

Permissions and Access

  • Rebates and Data Pipelines must be enabled in your org where you deploy the prebuilt app package.
  • To access the Transaction Journal and Rebate Member Product Aggregate records, you must be assigned the Rebate Management Admin permission set.
  • To customize the Data Processing Engine (DPE) definitions, you must be assigned the Data Pipelines Base User permission set.
  • To create and save changes to the Data Processing Engine definitions, you need the Customize Application and Modify All Data admin permissions.
  • The Data Processing Engine Edit tab is available by default for a System Administrator profile. Turn on the tab access for other user profiles, as required.
  • You need the Customize Application admin permission to create custom fields on the Transaction Journal and Rebate Member Product Aggregate objects.

Rebate Program

  • Select the Rebate Member Product Aggregate as the Aggregate Object on the required Program Rebate Type records.
  • Select the DPE definition that you’ve cloned from the Aggregate Payouts by Member with Aggregate Item Details template as the Calculation Definition on the required Program Rebate Type records.
  • If you want to aggregate data considering the filters, define eligibility criteria and add Included or Excluded Products records on the required Program Rebate Type records.

Data Processing Engine

  • Clone the Aggregate Payouts by Member with the Aggregate Item Details template and select the API name of the cloned definition in the Data Processing Engine field of the app.
  • If you want to add other customizations to the DPE definition, first use the prebuilt app to modify the definition for grouping and aggregation logic. Then, perform the other customizations as required. The prebuilt app only affects the nodes that are available by default in the Aggregate Payouts by Member with Aggregate Item Details template. When you upload the modified JSON file to update the definition with the group and aggregate fields, the custom nodes you manually added aren’t updated.
