Work with the Data Processing Engine Edits Prebuilt App
Use the Data Processing Engine Edits for Rebates prebuilt app to easily edit Data Processing Engine (DPE) definitions. Map custom fields between Transaction Journal and Rebate Member Product Aggregate, and download the modified DPE JSON file for the Aggregate Payouts by Member with Aggregate Item Details definition. The grouping and aggregation logic is automatically updated in the DPE definition based on the field mappings. You can upload the JSON file in the DPE builder to view the changes to an existing DPE definition in your org.

To clone a Data Processing Engine (DPE) template, follow these steps.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Processing, and select Data Processing Engine.
- Click Aggregate Payouts by Member with Aggregate Item Details.
- Click Save As.
- Enter a name for the DPE definition.
- Click Activate.

To create custom fields that you use as grouping and aggregation criteria, follow these
steps.

Create a custom field on Transaction Journal that you want to use as a grouping criteria.

For example, to group records by a member’s region, create a picklist type field called Region and add values such as APAC, EMEA, and AMER.

Create a custom field on Rebate Member Product Aggregate that you want to use as a
grouping criteria.
The data type must be similar to the custom field on Transaction Journal. For example, create a picklist type field called Member Territory, and add values such as APAC, EMEA, and AMER.

Create a custom field on Transaction Journal that you want to use as an aggregation
criteria.
For example, to aggregate the return quantity of products for a member, create a number type field called Return Order Quantity.

Create a custom field on Rebate Member Product Aggregate that you want to use as an
aggregation criteria.
The data type must be similar to the custom field on Transaction Journal. For example, create a number type field called Total Return Quantity.

To map the custom fields, follow these steps.
- From the App Launcher, find and select Data Processing Engine Edit.
- For Data Processing Engine Definition, enter the API name of the DPE definition you created in step 1.

In the Aggregate Data section, select these fields.
- Transaction Journal Field: The custom field on Transaction Journal that you want to use as an aggregation criteria.
- Rebate Aggregate Object Field: The custom field on Rebate Member Product Aggregate that you want to use as an aggregation criteria.
- Aggregate with Eligibility Criteria: Select the checkbox when you want the DPE definition to apply the eligibility criteria and the Included or Excluded product filters for aggregation.
- In the Group Data section, select these fields.
- To clear field selections, click Reset.

To update the DPE definition, follow these steps.
- Click Download JSON File.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Processing, and select Data Processing Engine.
- Click the definition that you created in step 1.
- Click Deactivate.
- Click Upload.
- Select the file that you downloaded.
- Click Upload.
- Click Save.
- To view the changes, refresh the page.
- Click Activate.
You can now edit the required rebate types and select this DPE definition as the calculation definition. Also, select the updated DPE definition in your rebate orchestration flows.
