Prepare Your Org for AI Relationship Research

Before you configure AI Relationship Research, complete these steps to make sure that your org has the required features enabled.

A Salesforce admin must complete these steps.

Customize Application Add components to Lightning Record Pages
  1. Add AI Relationship Research license to your org.
    Make sure that your org has an active AI Relationship Research license. To add this license, contact your Salesforce account executive.
  2. Provision Data 360 in your org.
    AI Relationship Research requires Data 360 for generating the relationship graph and storage.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Data Cloud Setup, then click Data Cloud Setup Home.
    2. Follow the on-screen steps to provision Data Cloud for your org.
    3. For detailed instructions, see Set Up and Turn on Data 360.
  3. Turn on Einstein generative AI.
    AI Relationship Research uses Salesforce generative AI capabilities to conduct research and generate relationship insights.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Einstein Setup, then select Einstein Setup.
    2. Turn on Einstein.
    3. Accept the Einstein generative AI terms of service if prompted.
  4. Turn off data masking.
    Data masking prevents AI Relationship Research from recognizing entity names and extracting relationships. For accurate and complete results, turn off data masking before running AI Relationship Research. For more information, see Set up Einstein Trust Layer.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Einstein Trust Layer, then select Einstein Trust Layer.
    2. Turn off Large Language Model Data Masking.
  5. (Optional) Create search retrievers for Data 360. Search is very powerful tool in Data 360. It can be on both structured and unstructured data. You can build search index on both structured and unstructured data, and build retrievers to retrieve the information.
    Complete this step if you want AI Relationship Research to use Data 360 as a research source. You can create retrievers using AI Models (formerly Einstein Studio).
    1. From Setup, click Data Cloud.
    2. Click the AI Models tab and then click Retrievers.
    3. Click New Retrievers and then select Individual Retriever. For detailed instructions, see Manage Retrievers.
    4. Follow the setup steps and save your changes.
