Review and Resolve an Employment Discrepancy
Resolve an employment discrepancy from the AI Relationship Research graph by keeping the CRM value or confirming the researched value.
When Employer Verification finds a mismatch, the AI Relationship Research graph shows a warning icon on the affected node, with the alert Discrepancy in Employment detected. and a Review & Resolve action. For an overview of validation, see Secondary Research Data Validation for Leads and Contacts.

Open a Contact or Lead record.
The AI Relationship Research component appears on the record page.

On the graph, select the warning icon on the flagged node.
A message summarizes the possible employment change and its source.

Select Review & Resolve.
The Review Employment Discrepancy window opens and shows that AI Relationship Research found an employer that differs from your Salesforce record.

Compare the two employer options.
- Current Salesforce Record: The current CRM value, with its Source, Last Updated date, and Updated By user.
- AI Relationship Research Discovery: The researched value, with its Last Updated date and a Confidence rating of High, Medium, or Low.

Choose how to resolve the discrepancy.
- To keep the CRM value and clear the warning icon without changing data, select Dismiss Discrepancy.
- To keep the CRM value, select Current Salesforce Record, then Confirm.
- To update the record with the researched value, select AI Relationship Research Discovery, then Confirm.
- To close without making a change, click Cancel.
When you confirm the researched value:
- For a Lead: AI Relationship Research updates the lead's company name field. No account record is created or changed.
- For a Contact: AI Relationship Research updates the contact's account (a lookup field). If the researched account doesn't exist in Salesforce, the account record is created first, and then the contact is linked to it.
In both cases, AI Relationship Research updates only the lead or contact record. It doesn't delete accounts or change other relationships in the graph during the same run.
How Discrepancies Are Reflagged
- Resolved discrepancies stay resolved: After you confirm a value and the warning icon clears, AI Relationship Research doesn't flag that item again unless the underlying data changes or you rerun research.
- Dismissed discrepancies can reappear: If you dismiss a discrepancy without updating the data, the warning icon can return the next time research runs, because the mismatch still exists.
Rerunning research re-evaluates the current CRM data against web findings. After you correct employment data, a refreshed graph might no longer show the earlier discrepancy.
Secondary Research Validation Notifications
When validation is enabled, users receive discrepancy identified or insights ready notifications in the notification panel. For example:
- Discrepancy identified: AI Relationship Research: employment data discrepancy identified — Secondary validations identified {n} data discrepancies for {record}. Review and address.
- Insights ready: AI Relationship Research insights completed — AI Relationship Research insights are ready for {record}. Open the record to view them.
