AI Relationship Research Source Objects
Source objects define which CRM data AI Relationship Research searches when it generates relationship insights for a research anchor object. Choose from a set of standard source objects delivered for each anchor object, and add your own custom objects to extend research to the data that's unique to your business.
When you select CRM as a data source, AI Relationship Research reads data from the source objects that you enable for the research anchor object. The objects and fields that you select determine what AI Relationship Research sends for relationship insight generation, so focused, text-rich fields produce more relevant results.
Source objects fall into two groups: standard source objects and custom source objects.
Benefits
- Tailor research to your data model. Add your own custom objects to research so that the relationship graph reflects the relationships your business tracks.
- Control graph quality. Include only the objects and fields that carry meaningful relationship signals, and use the record count indicator to keep data volume in a healthy range.
- Start fast with sensible defaults. Delivered source objects give each anchor object a working configuration out of the box.
Standard Source Objects
AI Relationship Research delivers a set of standard source objects for each anchor object, with preselected fields. You choose which of the delivered objects to include, but you can't change the delivered list. The standard source objects depend on the anchor object.
| Anchor Object | Standard Source Objects and Searched Fields |
|---|---|
| Account or Contact | Interaction Summary (Meeting Notes, Next Steps), Task (Description, Subject), Case (Description, Subject), and Email Message (Text Body, HTML Body, Subject) |
| Lead | Task (Description, Subject) |
| Opportunity | Interaction Summary (Meeting Notes, Next Steps), Task (Description, Subject), and Case (Description, Subject) |
Custom Source Objects
You can add your org's custom objects as source objects so that data unique to your business is considered in relationship insights. When a custom object isn't directly related to the anchor object, you define a relationship path so that AI Relationship Research can traverse to the anchor object through intermediate objects. To add custom objects, see Add Source Objects to a Configuration.
Record Count
For each source object, the configuration shows the number of records in your org. Because AI Relationship Research sends the selected objects' data for relationship insight generation, objects with very high record counts can send too much data at once, which can reduce the quality of the results or affect performance. Use the record count as a signal when you decide which objects to include.
- Good: Fewer than 1,000 records.
- Moderate: 1,000–5,000 records.
- Not recommended: More than 5,000 records, which can affect performance. A high record count doesn't block you from adding an object, but consider whether the object's data is essential before you include it.
- Add Source Objects to a Configuration
Add standard or custom source objects to a research configuration so AI Relationship Research reads the CRM data that you choose.
