Required Editions
| Available in: Lightning Experience |
| Available in: All editions of Field Service Plus for Energy & Utilities, and all editions of Asset Service Lifecycle Management |
| User Permissions Needed | |

| To access Timesheets objects: | Labor Cost Optimization Supervisor |
- From Setup, select Object Manager.
- Select TimeSheetEntryItem.
- Select Fields & Relationships, and then select New.
-
Create the custom fields required for your business process.
Note: StartTime and EndTime fields are of the type dateTime, but the user only enters the time. The system calculates the final dateTime by using the Timesheet’s StartDate plus the input time. The Status field is ignored.
- Select Page Layouts.
- Create a page layout or update an existing one to include your new fields.
-
Assign this page layout to the technician user profile to make sure that it’s
used when creating a time sheet entry.
Note If you add a field that is read-only for create or update operations, it’s removed from the mobile app regardless of the operation being performed. Only supported data types (text, picklist, lookup, number, date, dateTime, time, text area, and Long Text Area) appear on the mobile app. - If you added a custom or standard object as a lookup, verify that the technician has access to the object records and the timesheet item entries lookup field.
-
If access is missing, create a permission set.
- Go to Object Settings and select the object.
- Select Edit and turn on Read and View All Records permissions.
- In Object Settings, select Time Sheet Entry Item.
- Select Field Permissions.
- Select Edit and turn on Read and Write permissions for the lookup field.
- Save your changes.
