Set Up Omnistudio Document Generation

This step is optional. To generate and download proposal documents, install and set up Omnistudio Document Generation.

The Spring '25 org uses the ifs/DocumentGenerationV2 OmniScript.

A Generate Proposal button is added to the footer on the Review Quote Summary screen. It can be enabled or disabled based on an input parameter.

Shift Omnistudio Document Generation to Core

You need Omnistudio Document Generation to generate and download proposal documents.

  1. Install Omnistudio Document Generation in Core.
  2. To use Omnistudio Document Generation in Core, reconfigure the Work Order Estimation setup.
    1. Ensure you’re using the Spring ʼ25 version of the Document Generation OmniScript.
    2. Create a version or clone the out-of-the-box (OOTB) OmniScript.
    3. In the cloned OmniScript, deactivate the GenerateDocumentManagedPackageStep LWC element.
    4. Activate the GenerateDocumentCoreStep LWC element.
    5. Enable the input parameter that controls Omnistudio Document Generation in Work Order Estimation.

Implement Fresh Omnistudio Document Generation for Managed Package

Perform a fresh installation and configuration of Omnistudio Document Generation to create and manage document templates

  1. Install Omnistudio Document Generation.
    For more information, see OmniStudio Document Generation.
  2. Enable Omnistudio Document Generation.
    1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Document Generation, and then select General Settings.
    2. Turn on Design Document Templates.
  3. Clone the Default WorkOrderEstimationProposal template.
    1. From the App Launcher, search for and select Design Document Template.
    2. Clone the default WorkOrderEstimationProposal template with a different name.
      For example, WorkOrderEstimationProposalClone.
    3. Activate the cloned template.
  4. Configure a Data Mapper.
    1. From the App Launcher, search for and select Omnistudio Data Mappers.
    2. Open the WorkOrderEstimationDocGenGetTemplateName Data Mapper.
    3. On the Extract tab, enter the cloned document template name in the Name filter.
      For example, WorkOrderEstimationProposalClone.
  5. Set Up Omnistudio Email Action.

  6. Enable the input parameter for Omnistudio Document Generation in Work Order Estimation.

  1. Install Omnistudio Document Generation.
  2. Enable Document Generation.
    From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Document Generation, and then select General Settings.
  3. Clone the default WorkOrderEstimationProposal template.
    1. From the App Launcher, search for and select Design Document Template.
    2. Clone the default WorkOrderEstimationProposal template with a different name. For example, WorkOrderEstimationProposalClone.
    3. Activate the cloned template.

    1. From the App Launcher, search for and select Omnistudio Data Mappers.
    2. Open the WorkOrderEstimationDocGenGetTemplateName Data Mapper.

  5. Set up Omnistudio Email Action.
