Encrypt Your Data with Shield Platform Encryption

For most, Backup & Recover Next uses the default encryption key to encrypt backup data. Shield customers with Platform Encryption can instead encrypt their backups with their own key, rather than the default offering.

When you enable backups, Backup & Recover Next automatically detects your active encryption key in Shield Platform Encryption and uses that key to encrypt your backups.

If you have a Shield Platform Encryption license with no active encryption key, either use the default key or activate a key before enabling backups. You can't change the encryption method later.
