Control the scope of your restore by selecting a specific object to restore, which of its records to restore, and define how many levels of child objects to restore alongside deleted records. This approach helps you recover only what you need, instead of restoring unnecessary data or overwriting intended changes, so you can recover from incidents with greater confidence and less disruption. Target only affected records, preserve relationship context by restoring deleted child records, and verify outcomes before making production-impacting changes.
Use Preview Restore to verify every record in scope, including child records, to validate the changes the restore will make to your org.
Use Restore when you want to skip the preview and restore immediately. Skip the preview when you know the full scope of the restore settings and speed is the priority.

When you restore data from a backup, you can select an object hierarchy depth to include child objects of that depth in the restore. To review all the child objects included in the restore before confirming the restore, do a preview restore. - Restore without Previewing
