          Initialize the New Target Engine Container

          Create a baseline target Data Processing Engine (DPE) definition that runs on Data Cloud. This container receives the modified JSON configuration that you import in the next step.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          User Permissions Needed
          To create a Data Processing Engine definition Customize Application AND Author Apex

          Modify the JSON configuration. See Modify the JSON Configuration.

          1. Return to the Salesforce Data Processing Engine setup homepage.
          2. Click the New button in the upper-right corner.
          3. In the New Data Processing Engine Definition wizard, configure the baseline parameters.
            1. For Name, enter your target definition name.
            2. For API Name, accept the generated value or enter a unique API name.
            3. For Process Type, select Standard.
            4. For Description, enter technical reference details as required.
          4. Click Next.
          5. For Runtime Platform, choose Data Cloud.
            Note
            Note Don't choose CRM Analytics.
          6. Click Next.
          7. For Runtime Execution Object Type, select Data Lake Object.
          8. Click Done.
            The target engine container is initialized in Data Cloud.

          Next, import the structural overrides. See Import the Structural Overrides.
