          Prerequisites for Data Cloud

          Before you use the Channel Revenue Management data kit and the Channel Revenue Management data model objects, complete the basic setup required to work in Data Cloud. You must connect Data Cloud to your Salesforce CRM org, enable features, and configure the security permissions.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
          User Permissions Needed
          To use Data Cloud for Channel Revenue Management

          Salesforce org: Customize Application AND Use Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced (or Use Manufacturing Rebates depending on license)

          AND

          Data Cloud org: Data Cloud Admin

          Note
          Note Requires the Channel Revenue Management add-on. Works with either Sales Cloud or Industry Anchor Sales SKUs. Include the relevant Data Cloud SKU to use DPE and Channel Revenue Management capabilities on Data Cloud.
          1. Review and complete all the steps mentioned in the Salesforce Data Cloud documentation.
            1. Plan your Data Cloud strategy.
            2. Manage Data Cloud users.
            3. Manage access with Data Cloud permission sets.
            4. Manage data spaces.
            5. Set up the Salesforce CRM connector.
            Note
            Note To prevent object accessibility errors during data kit installation or data stream deployment, configure the core Rebates system permissions for the Data Cloud integration profile. For more information, see Configure Core Rebates System Permissions for Data Cloud Salesforce Connector.
          2. Enable the features required to access the data kit and its components.
            1. Go to Data Cloud Setup.
              If you don't see this option, refresh your page, or log out and log back in with your admin user credentials.
            2. To enable Data Cloud, click Get Started.
              Setup can take a few minutes.
          3. Turn on Channel Revenue Management features. Depending on your license, turn on Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced or Rebates.
            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced, and then select Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced.
            2. Turn on Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced.
            3. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Rebates, and then select Rebates.
            4. Turn on Rebates.
          4. Connect Data Cloud to your Salesforce CRM org. Ensure that your core instance is fully authenticated as a valid data source inside Data Cloud Setup.
          5. Set up object and field permissions.
            1. Log in to the Salesforce org that contains the objects and fields that you want to ingest into Data Cloud.
            2. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets, and then select Permission Sets.
            3. Find and select the Data Cloud Salesforce Connector permission set.
            4. Click System Permissions, click Edit, and enable the Use Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced and Batch Management User permissions.
            5. Click Permission Set Overview, and then select Object Settings.
            6. Select each of these objects: Account, User, UnitOfMeasure, RebateProgram, RebateProgramMember, RebateProgramPayoutPeriod, RebateProgramMemberPayout, ProgramRebateType, ProgramRebateTypeFilter, ProgramRebateTypeBenefit, ProgramRebateTypePayout, ProgramRebateTypPayoutSrc, ProgramRebateTypeProduct, RebatePayoutAdjustment, RebatePayment, PgmRebateTypBnftMapping, and RebateMemberProductAggregate.
            7. Click Edit. In Object Permissions, enable Read All, View All Records, and Edit permissions.
            8. In Field Permissions, ensure that Read Access is enabled for each individual field.
            9. Save your changes.

          Note If you plan to use advanced accrual calculations with the Data Processing Engine (DPE), the Accrual and Payout Engine data kit is deployed when you configure your DPE definitions. For information about the DPE for accrual calculations, see Configure Data Processing Engine Definitions for Advanced Accruals.
