Set Up Loyalty Program Processes and Actions

Considerations

General

• You can credit and debit points only from subcurrencies. You can't use Base or Any.
• Loyalty Management processes an accrual cancellation only if the subcurrencies credited by the original transaction can be debited. For example, if an accrual credited points to subcurrencies S1 and S2, the cancellation is processed only if points can be debited across S1 and S2. If the combined balance of S1 and S2 is insufficient, Loyalty Management blocks the cancellation and returns an error.
• Loyalty Management processes a redemption cancellation by returning points to the exact balances consumed. For example, if a redemption consumed points from subcurrencies S1 and S2 with expiration dates E1 and E2, the cancellation restores those points to S1 and S2 with their original expiration dates.

Loyalty program process rule actions

• For activity-based expiration currencies, points are consumed based only on the debit sequence in the Debit Points process rule action.
• For fixed-duration expiration subcurrencies, points are consumed based on the sequence that's captured in the Debit Points process rule action. If multiple records match the sequence criteria, the system consumes the earliest-expiring records first based on their Loyalty Aggregated Point Expiration Ledger expiry date.
• You can't use a resource in Debit Points process rule action because these currencies require a subtype sequence at run time.

Other

• You can specify only one currency subtype in an invocable action request. If a request attempts to debit points from a subtype with an insufficient balance, the system returns an error.
• When you adjust or transfer points, you must also specify a subcurrency type. See Adjust Points.
