To link redemption transactions directly to source accrual transactions, turn on
traceability for redeemable currencies. Set up Data Processing Engine definitions and invocable
actions to process trace records and expire points.

Use this flowchart to navigate the key decisions and configuration steps required
to set up traceability.
Enable Traceability Settings To link redemption transactions directly to source accrual transactions, turn on traceability for redeemable currencies with the fixed-duration expiration, activity-based expiration, or both.
Impact of Asynchronous Point Tracing on Loyalty Processes Based on the data volume and currency-type, turn on asynchronous point tracing. When you turn on asynchronous tracing, pending traceability records are created in real time and processed asynchronously. Review how pending traceability records affect various processes, such as point expiration, redemptions, and transfers.
Enable Tracing and Create Currency Subtypes to Control Liability After you enable traceability settings, for each currency for which you want to create trace records, enable ledger tracing. If necessary, create currency subtypes to categorize points. Use these subtypes to specify which points are accrued from a transaction or a promotion, define the consumption order for redemptions, and restrict usage based on transaction types.
