          Things to Keep in Mind

Here are a few things to keep in mind when you create and manage member groups:

          • Groups aren't associated with tiers.
          • Qualifying points can't be transferred to a group.
          • Points can't be adjusted for groups.
          • Vouchers can't be issued to groups.
          • Promotions can't be offered to groups.
          • Accrual type transactions associated with a group can't be canceled.
          • The Expire Fixed Non-Qualifying Points Data Processing Engine definition expires a group's points based on the currencies' expiration date.

          Recommendations

          • Transfer member points to groups in batches and after the escrow period for a transaction is over. This ensures that points are transferred to groups from the member’s point balance and not from the member's escrow point balance.
          • Transfer member points to groups after all the Credit type Loyalty Ledger records are created for a transaction. This ensures that the Transfer Member Points to Groups action doesn't miss transferring points for any of the Loyalty Ledger records. The action can transfer points for a journal only once. If ledgers are created after points are transferred for a journal, these new ledgers aren't considered by the action.
          • Create Accrual type Transaction Journals for Individual or Corporate members only. In most business scenarios, an Individual or a Corporate member's activity leads to the creation of a transaction journal.
