          Link Partners With Loyalty Program Membership

          Members can link their membership with partner accounts or partner loyalty memberships to seamlessly access co-branded rewards, such as bonus rewards or free upgrades to a higher tier. The loyalty program member and partner must belong to the same loyalty program. Linking memberships provides members with additional benefits in the home loyalty program. For example, a member staying at a hotel can get a discount on a car rental of a partner brand during the stay.

          When partner accounts are linked, segmentation and targeting become more powerful because you can combine loyalty data with partner-specific attributes. For example, a loyalty program can target members who have linked a specific credit card type but haven't made a purchase in six months with a special promotion.

          Example
          Example Sarah is a frequent traveler and a member of the Coral Cloud Resorts (her home program). She also regularly uses taxi services from Ursa Major Solar Transit (the partner program). Sarah links her Coral Cloud membership with her Ursa Major account. When Sarah books a premium ride to the airport via Ursa Major, she automatically earns Coral Cloud loyalty points for the transaction. Because her memberships are linked, Coral Cloud analyzes her travel patterns to send her personalized offers for her upcoming hotel stays or bundled travel packages.
          • Link and Unlink Partners by Using APIs
            A loyalty program member or a customer service representative can link and unlink partners. The partner linking process begins when a customer initiates a linkage from either a partner app or the loyalty ecosystem.
          • Link Partners by Using Loyalty Management
            The loyalty program member and partner must belong to the same loyalty program. A loyalty program manager or a customer service representative can initiate the linking. Make sure that you initiate linking within the linkage window that the partner allows.
          • Unlink Partners by Using Loyalty Management
            Unlinking a partner marks the linkage status as Inactive and stops the cross-program benefits. When you link the same partner back, the system considers it as new linkage and creates new records.
