Reduce Storage with Just-in-Time Member Currency Record Creation

Create loyalty member currency records when members first earn points, not automatically at enrollment. If you turn on negative point balances, Loyalty Management creates records on the first debit if a member currency record doesn’t exist. These changes reduce the number of unused records stored in your org.

User Permissions Needed
To turn on on-demand member currency record creation: Loyalty Management permission set

Loyalty Management doesn't create these loyalty member currency records until a member completes their first points transaction. Before you turn on this setting, update your customizations—such as Apex triggers, Flows, and analytics queries—that reference these records to include null checks.

  1. From Setup, use the Quick Find box to find and select Loyalty Management Settings.
  2. Turn on the On-Demand Member Currency Creation setting.
Note
Note Loyalty Management doesn't automatically delete a loyalty member currency record when its balance reaches 0.

If you turn off the setting, Loyalty Management doesn't retroactively create currency records for members who enrolled while the setting was on and haven't completed a points transaction. Before you credit or debit points for these members, manually create their loyalty member currency records.
