Required Editions
| Available in: both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience |
| Available in: all editions |
Note You can use passkeys to log in with Touch ID or Face ID, Windows Hello, a device PIN or
password, password managers, or security keys. Security keys are small physical devices that
store passkeys.
Access Passkey Management Pages
Log in and go to your personal settings. From here, you have two options to view and manage passkeys.
-
In the Quick Find box, find and select Passkeys. If you get a
blank page, try switching to Salesforce Classic or clearing your
browser cookies.
-
Can’t find the Passkeys page? From your personal settings, find and select
Advanced User Details instead. Find Built-in
Authenticators. You can see your registered passkeys there, including
security keys.
If you don't see a security key, look for Security Key (U2F or WebAuthn) on this same page.
Add Passkeys and Security Keys
For important considerations and detailed steps, see Create a Passkey.
You can add passkeys from either passkey management page.
- From the Passkeys page: click Add Passkey. For security keys, you can click either Add Passkey or Add Security Key.
- From the Advanced User Details page in the Built-in Authenticators section: click Add. For security keys, you can click either Add in the Built-in Authenticators section or Register in the “Security Key (U2F or WebAuthn)” section.
Disconnect Passkeys and Security Keys
Delete passkeys that don't work or that you no longer use.
- If you're currently locked out of your account, see Access Your Account When You Can't Use a Passkey.
- When you’re logged in, go to your personal settings and access your passkeys from the Passkeys or Advanced User Details page.
-
To delete a passkey or security key:
- From the Passkeys page: click Delete Passkey or Delete Security Key.
- From the Advanced Users Details page in the Built-in Authenticators section: find your passkey and click Del. If you can't find a security key in this section, find the “Security Key (U2F or WebAuthn)” setting on this page and click Disconnect.
- To log in quickly next time, create a new passkey.
