Set Up Clean Metadata Deployment
Turn on Clean Metadata Deployment from Omnistudio Settings in Setup. Turn it on in both the source org and the target org.
Before You Begin
Before you turn on Clean Metadata Deployment, confirm that your org meets these requirements:
- Your org is on the standard runtime. If you're on the managed package runtime, migrate to the standard runtime first. See Migrate Your Components to Omnistudio Standard Runtime Using the Omnistudio Migration Assistant.
- Omnistudio Metadata is turned on in Omnistudio Settings.
- Omnistudio Data Mapper Versioning is turned on in Omnistudio Settings. If Omnistudio Data Mapper Versioning is turned off when you turn on Clean Metadata Deployment, it's turned on automatically.
- Salesforce recommends that you first turn on Clean Metadata Deployment in your test orgs and validate the deployment and runtime before you turn it on in other orgs.
- After you turn on Clean Metadata Deployment, all your Omnistudio artifacts are copied to new metadata. You can no longer use the legacy metadata types for retrieve or deploy operations. Use the new metadata types instead.
- After you turn on Clean Metadata Deployment, Salesforce recommends that you don't turn it off.
- After you turn on Clean Metadata Deployment, don't revert to the managed package runtime, because components that you created with the new metadata stop working.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Omnistudio Settings, and then select Omnistudio Settings.
-
Turn on Clean Metadata Deployment in both the source org and the
target org.
Salesforce sends a confirmation email when the setting is active. If activation fails, the email lists the errors to resolve. After you fix the errors, retry the activation.
