Work with an App Configuration
After you create an app configuration, you can easily change its style, function, or assignment.
From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Mobile Builder, and then select Mobile Builder for Salesforce App Home.
In the App Configurations pane, click the menu next to the selected configuration, and then select the menu option you want.
Edit an App Name
Change the app name to suit your needs or add clarity on its purpose.
- From the App Configurations page in Setup, click the dropdown next to the selected configuration and select Edit Basic Information.
- A dialog box opens. Edit the App Name field, and then click Save.
You can't edit the API name.
Assign Profiles to a Configuration
Choose who sees the custom configuration in the Salesforce Mobile App based on user preferences and needs.
- From Setup, click the dropdown next to the selected configuration, and then select Assign Profiles.
- Select the profiles that can view your app configuration.
- If no conflicts exist, click Assign to continue.
- If the profiles you selected are already assigned to a different configuration, a conflict message appears. Click Next to proceed to conflict resolution.
- If conflicts exist, review the assignment changes. A conflict occurs when a profile is already assigned to another configuration. Only one configuration can be assigned to a profile at a time.
- Choose how to resolve the conflicts:
- Click Override & Publish to reassign the profiles from their current configuration to this new configuration. Users with these profiles immediately see the new configuration the next time they open the Salesforce Mobile App.
- Click Cancel & Back to return and modify your profile selections.
Clone a Configuration
Make your work customizing configurations for multiple users go more quickly.
- From Setup, click the dropdown next to the selected configuration, and then select Clone.
- Edit the App Name field.
- Edit the API Name field.
- Click Save.
Delete a Configuration
Remove unneeded custom configurations.
- Click the menu next to the configuration you want to delete.
- Select Delete. A warning modal appears.
- To delete the configuration, click Delete.
A configuration can't be reinstated and after it's deleted, assigned profiles can no longer view the configuration.
