Create the Outbound Network Connection

Create a primary outbound network connection to support your Virtual Private Connection (VPC).

To create the outbound network connection, you need to determine your Amazon VPC endpoint service ID and AWS region.

For Snowflake, in your Snowflake settings, find your Amazon VPC endpoint service ID and AWS region from the VPC ID and Region fields of SYSTEM$GET_PRIVATELINK_CONFIG.

For Amazon S3, find the service name for a VPC endpoint in the AWS console. Navigate to the VPC service, look for Endpoints and find the specific endpoint you want to use. The service name is displayed on the endpoint detail page. For more information about the console, see Visualize the resources in your VPC on AWS.

For Amazon Redshift, use the Redshift VPC endpoint service name from the Redshift VPC endpoint services page.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Private, and then select Private Connect.
  2. Click Create Outbound Connection, select AWS PrivateLink, and click Next.

  3. Give your connection a name.
  4. For VPC Endpoint Service Name, use the service name from your VPC endpoint.
  5. For Region, select the AWS region that you’re running the Salesforce Private Connect in.
  6. Select Yes, I would like to provision my connection now.

  7. Save the connection.

Sync your new connection to ensure a ready status. On the Private Connect page, click the action menu for the connection and select Sync.
