Delete a Root Certificate

When you’re notified that a certificate authority (CA) is expiring, or when your org no longer needs a certificate, manage certificate deletion appropriately.

Note The Certificate Trust Store supports Named Credentials integrations only. All other external connections rely on root certificates included in the global, Salesforce-managed trust store.

Disposing expiring certificates in the right way helps prevent service disruptions due to inadequate security coverage. Before you delete a certificate, if needed, upload a replacement for the certificate you are going to delete.

  1. From Setup, use the Quick Find box to find and select Certificate Trust Store.
  2. From the Action menu of the certificate you want to delete, select Delete Certificate.
  3. In the confirmation dialog box, type "Delete this certificate" in the validation text box.
  4. Click Delete.
