Remove Unused Setup Page Search Metadata

Remove Unused Setup Page Search Metadata

Delete leftover Setup Page Search Metadata artifacts in Data 360 to reclaim storage without affecting the Setup agent.

In early releases, Setup with Agentforce provisioned Data 360 artifacts that indexed Setup page titles, descriptions, and URLs. Salesforce now provides this metadata through a Salesforce-managed service. The leftover artifacts don’t process reads or writes and don’t receive data refreshes.

Leaving Setup Page leftover artifacts in place doesn’t affect Setup information and navigation. After you delete them, Salesforce doesn’t recreate them. If a listed artifact isn’t in your org, skip it and continue in the same order. Some artifacts, such as a search index, are created depending upon when you enabled Setup with Agentforce.

Salesforce uses these artifacts only for Setup page metadata. Confirm that each artifact name includes the stem SetupPageSearchMetadata before you delete it. If you see a reference to SetupPageSearchMetadata__dlm in custom segments, activations, calculated insights, or other retrievers, remove those dependencies first. If your org uses multiple data spaces, look for these artifacts in the default data space.

Artifact Type Label API Name
Retriever Setup Page Search Metadata Retriever Auto-generated ID. Identify this retriever by its label.
Search Index Setup Page Search Metadata Index SetupPageSearchMetadataIndex_K7M3X
Index-related DMOs Setup Page Search Metadata Index DMO and Setup Page Search Metadata Chunk DMO SetupPageSearchMetadata_index_dlm and SetupPageSearchMetadata_chunk_dlm
Data Model Object (DMO) Setup Page Search Metadata SetupPageSearchMetadata__dlm
Data Stream Setup Page Search Metadata Stream SetupPageSearchMetadataStream_K7M3X
Data Lake Object (DLO) Setup Page Search Metadata Lake Object SetupPageSearchMetadata__dll
Data Connector Setup Page Search Metadata Connector_K7M3X SetupPageSearchMetadataConnector_K7M3X

Delete artifacts in this order to avoid dependency errors: retriever, search index, data model object (DMO), data stream, data lake object (DLO), then data connector.

  1. Delete the retriever. Open the Data Cloud app and select the AI Models tab. Select Retrieve from AI Models. Click the down arrow next to Setup Page Search Metadata Retreiver and select Delete.
  2. Delete the search index. Select the Search Indexes tab. If you don't see Search Indexes listed, click the More tab to display a list of available tabs. Click the down arrow next to Setup Page Search Metadata Index and select Delete.
  3. Delete the data model object. Select the Data Model tab. Click the down arrow next to Setup Page Search Metadata (SetupPageSearchMetadata__dlm) and select Delete. If prompted, remove the data mapping from the related DLO first, then click Delete.
  4. Delete the data stream. Select the Data Streams tab. Click the down arrow next to Setup Page Search Metadata Stream (SetupPageSearchMetadataStream_K7M3X) and select Delete. Deleting the data stream often removes the related DLO. If Setup Page Search Metadata Lake Object remains, delete it before you delete the connector.
  5. Delete the data connector. Go to Data Cloud Setup. Scroll down to Connect Other Data Sources and select Ingestion API. Click the down arrow next to Setup Page Search Metadata Connector (SetupPageSearchMetadataConnector_K7M3X) and select Delete.

After you delete these artifacts, search Data Model, Data Streams, Data Lake Objects, Search Indexes, Retrievers, and Connectors for SetupPageSearchMetadata. Confirm that no matching items remain. Then, in Setup, submit a prompt such as “How do I create a permission set?” and confirm that the Setup agent returns relevant answers and links.

Note
Note If a deletion fails because of a dependency, confirm that you deleted upstream artifacts first: retriever, search index, DMO, data stream, DLO, then connector. If you find artifacts that don’t match these names, contact Salesforce Customer Support before you delete them.
