Match Qualified Talent Using Skills and Certifications

Match Qualified Talent Using Skills and Certifications

Create and assign skills that represent certifications and expertise, like Electrician Certification or Tier 2 Support. Assign skills to worker records so scheduling tools match qualified candidates to shifts that require those skills.

  1. From Setup, enter Skills in the Quick Find box, then select Skills.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter a skill name, like Electrician Certification or Claims Level 1, a developer name, and a description.
  4. Save your changes.
  5. Assign the skill to a service resource.
    1. Open a service resource record and go to the Skills related list.
    2. Select a skill.
Skip entering a skill level. Shift Scheduling and Workforce Management don't consider skill levels. To schedule using skill levels, assign separate skill records, like Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3, to job profiles and workers accordingly.
    3. Enter a start date and an end date if re-certification is required. For example, if a worker must be recertified in a skill every six months, enter an end date that's six months later than the start date.
    4. Save your changes.
