          Disable Field History Tracking

          Disable Field History Tracking

You can turn off field history tracking from the object’s management settings.

          Required Editions

Available in: Salesforce Classic, Lightning Experience, and the Salesforce app

Available in: Contact Manager, Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, Developer, and Database.com Editions

Standard Objects aren’t available in Database.com Edition

          User Permissions Needed
To define which fields are tracked: Customize Application
          Note
Note If Apex references one of an object’s fields, you can’t disable field history tracking for that object.
          1. From the management settings for the object whose field history you want to stop tracking, select Fields & Relationships.
          2. Click Set History Tracking.
          3. Deselect the tracking you want to disable.
            • To disable field history tracking for all fields, click Deselect all fields.
            • To disable field history tracking for individual fields, deselect those fields.
          4. Save your changes.
The History related list is automatically removed from the associated object’s page layouts.

When you disable field history tracking on a standard object, you can still report on its history data up to the date and time that you disabled tracking. When you disable field history tracking on a custom object, you can no longer report on its field history.
