Create Benefits

Add benefits to a rebate type to define qualifying ranges and benefit values for each range. View and edit benefits from the Benefits tab on a Rebate Type record.

Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions that have Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced enabled.
User Permissions Needed
To create a Program Rebate Type Benefit Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced Admin permission set
  1. Open the record of a rebate program, and select the Benefits related list on the Related tab. Or, from App Launcher search, enter Program Rebate Type Benefits, and then select Program Rebate Type Benefits.
  2. From the Program Rebate Type Benefits page or the Benefits related list area, click Add Benefit.
  3. Provide these details, and then save your changes.
    Field Value
    Name Name of the benefit.
    Rebate Type Name of the rebate type to which you associate a benefit. When you create benefits from the Related tab of a rebate type, this value defaults to the current rebate type.
    Status

    Status of the benefit.

    • Active
    • Inactive

    Only active benefits are considered for accrual calculations.
    Minimum Range Value The minimum quantity or revenue to qualify a transaction for a benefit tier. The measure is specified in the Benefit Qualifier Field of the rebate type.
    Maximum Range Value The maximum quantity or revenue to qualify a transaction for a benefit tier. The measure is specified in the Benefit Qualifier Field of the rebate type.
    Product

    If the benefit structure varies by product, select a product.

    When benefit mappings are configured, the engine first looks for an exact match between the benefit's mapped field value and the transaction data. If no exact match is found, benefit will not be applied to the transaction.
    Applied Benefit The benefit value applied for calculating the accrual. The unit of measure is specified in the Measure Type of a rebate type. The value to which the benefit is applied is specified in the Measure Field of a rebate type.
    Maximum Measure Field Value To cap the benefit for a tier at a certain quantity or amount, specify a value.
    Effective Start Date The date from which the benefit is effective for accrual calculations. The date must be between the start and end dates of the rebate program.
    Effective End Date The date until when the benefit is effective for accrual calculations. The date must be between the start and end dates of the rebate program.

Note
  • Ensure benefit effective dates fully cover all accrual periods defined for the program.
  • You can't change a benefit that has accrual calculations associated with it.
  • The maximum range value of a tier can't overlap with the minimum range value for the next tier.
  • Calculated values remain aligned across the user interface, API responses, and stored records.
  • The system defaults to 2 decimal places, but can be configured to support higher precision (up to 6) depending on your org's multicurrency settings.

Example

A revenue-based rebate type has the following fields defined:

  • Measure Type: Percentage of Revenue
  • Measure Field: Total Transaction Amount
  • Benefit Qualifier Field: Total Transaction Amount

Here are the two benefit tiers associated with the rebate type:

  • For the silver tier: A 5% accrual is calculated on the total transaction amount when the total transaction amount is $9,999 or less.
  • For the gold tier: An 8% accrual is calculated on the total transaction amount when the total transaction amount is $10,000 or more.
If a member records a total transaction amount of $70,000 in an accrual period, the Gold Tier applies to $70,000. The member's accrued amount for this accrual period is $5,600 (8% of $70,000).
