          How Are Accruals Calculated?

Define the calculation basis of a rebate type and add an Accrual Frequency to specify how often to track financial liabilities. In the Advanced engine, you can decouple accruals from payouts to recognize accounting liabilities more frequently than cash disbursements.

          Required Editions

Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions that have Rebate and Accrual Management Advanced enabled.

Understand how these fields on a Program Rebate Type record determine how accruals are calculated in the Advanced engine.

          Field Description
Accrual Frequency Select a dedicated accrual frequency (Weekly, Monthly) independent of the payout frequency.
Accrual Calculation Method Select the calculation method for your accrual logic. Use Retrospective to apply the full qualified benefit value, or Stepped to apportion values across tier boundaries.
Measure Type Select the type of reward that you want to offer for the rebate type. Types of rewards include Amount Per Unit, Percentage of Revenue, Fixed Amount, and Custom.
Measure Field Field in the specified aggregation object based on which accruals are calculated.
Calculation Basis Select Accrual to enable accrual calculations for Advanced rebates.
Aggregation Criteria Defines how transactions are grouped for accrual calculations. By default, the engine aggregates by Member only. To track accruals by additional dimensions such as Product, Region, Territory, or Channel, configure Program Rebate Type Aggregation Field records to add up to three custom anchors (Anchor1, Anchor2, Anchor3).
