You are here:
Create a Report or Visualization on Usage by Data Space
If you use multiple data spaces, you can build a Data 360 report or Tableau Next visualization that breaks down consumption by data space. Data is often partitioned by region, business unit, geography, or security requirements. Select a method based on the reporting tool that you want to use and the underlying data objects available to you.
Digital Wallet supports two ways to break down consumption by data space, depending on which underlying data objects you use.
- Create a calculated field on the Additional Info attribute in the Consumption Insights Extended semantic data model (SDM). This method requires the Consumption Tagging app and doesn't consume Data 360 service credits. Use this calculated field to build either a Data 360 report or a Tableau Next visualization.
- Join the TenantEnrichedUsageEvent and TenantUsageAttrDetail data lake objects (DLOs) on the Tenant Usage Billing Event ID field, then group your report by the Data Space API field. Use this method if you're reporting directly on Data 360 without the semantic data model.
Select a Method
- Create a Report on Usage by Data Space Using Our DMO: Build a Data 360 report by using the calculated-field method.
- Create a Report on Usage by Data Space Using Our DLOs: Build a Data 360 report by joining two Digital Wallet DLOs.
- Create a Tableau Next Viz on Usage by Data Space: Build a Tableau Next visualization by using the calculated-field method.
Make Sure You Have the Required Permissions
What permissions you need depend on which method you plan to use.
- For the required permissions to access Digital Wallet, access Data 360 objects, and install the Consumption Tagging app, see Digital Wallet Permissions.
- For information on permission required to create a Tableau Next visualization, see Salesforce Help: Tableau Next Permission Sets and Licenses.
