Set Up and Manage a Default Account Team

Set up a default team of coworkers you typically work with on accounts, with a role for each member and special access to your accounts. If you don’t see the Account Team related list, ask your Salesforce admin to turn on account teams.

Available in: Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
User Permissions Needed
To set up or edit a default account team:

Read on accounts

AND

Account owner

OR

Higher than the account owner in the role hierarchy

To add the account owner’s default account team to an account:

Read on accounts

AND

Account owner

OR

Higher than the account owner in the role hierarchy

Set Up a Default Account Team

Set up a default account team from your personal settings page. Admins can set up a user’s default account team from the user’s record page.

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right and select Settings.
  2. Go to Advanced User Details and select Default Account Team.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Add coworkers, selecting each user’s access to the account and to related opportunities and cases. Also select each user’s role on the team.
  5. If you want, select options for adding the default team to your accounts automatically.
    • To add your default team to accounts from now on, select Automatically add my default account team to accounts that I create or accounts that are transferred to me.
    • To add your default team to all your accounts immediately, select Update account teams with these members.
    If you don’t add your default team to accounts automatically, you can add it to individual records later. From an account, on the Account Team related list, click Add Default Team.
    Note
    Note The Add Default Team button adds the default team of the account owner, not of the user who clicks the button.
  6. Click Save.

Manage a Default Account Team

Manage your default account team from your personal settings page. Admins can manage a user’s default account team from the user’s record page.

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right and select Settings.
  2. Go to Advanced User Details and select Default Account Team.
  3. Choose an option to manage default account team members.
    • To delete a default account team member, select Del.
    • To edit a default account team member’s access or role, select Edit.
