Data Import Wizard

You can use the Data Import Wizard to import accounts, contacts, leads, solutions, campaign members, person accounts, and custom objects. You can import up to 50,000 records at a time.

Required Editions

Available in: Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
Available in: All Editions except Database.com

Salesforce recommends that you test a small CSV file first to make sure that you prepared your source data correctly. Data Import Wizard supports only the CSV format.

These browsers support the Data Import Wizard:

  • Chrome™ version 29 and later
  • Mozilla® Firefox® version 23 and later
  • Microsoft® Internet Explorer® version 9 and later
  • Apple® Safari® version 5 and later
  • Internet Explorer 9 doesn’t support dragging CSV files into the browser.
  • Don’t run more than one import job at a time, even from separate browser windows.
  • Data Import Wizard doesn’t support importing custom objects into Experience Cloud sites.
