          Edit Your Search Layout

Take a look at how you can edit and customize your search layout to best fit your users needs.

          1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Object Manager, and then select Object Manager.
          2. Choose the object that you want to edit, and then select Search Layouts.
          3. To edit the layout, from the dropdown menu across from layout, select Edit.
          4. To change what’s visible on the page, move fields between Available Fields and Selected Fields.
          5. Customize and sort fields.
            1. To customize the fields that appear as column headings in the layout, select one or more fields, and then click Add or Remove.
            2. To sort fields in the layout, select one or more fields in the Selected Fields list, and then click Up or Down.
            3. To select multiple fields as a group, use SHIFT+click.
            4. To select multiple fields individually, use CTRL+click.
            Note
Note When you edit an object’s default layout in Salesforce Classic, you can select Override the search result column customizations for all users to overwrite all your customizations and restore them to your org-wide default settings. This setting resets users' customized search layout to use the one that's assigned to their profile. This option doesn't apply to Salesforce Lightning.
          6. Save your changes.
