Deploy Reports and Dashboards on Semantic Data Models Using Change Sets

You can deploy semantic model reports and dashboards from a sandox to a production org using an outbound change set.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Data 360 in Developer, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited Editions

Before deploying the change set, verify the deployment connection between the sandbox and production org. Also, confirm that the production org is authorized to receive change sets.

Before packaging reports or dashboards, ensure the underlying semantic data model exists in both the sandbox and production orgs with the same apiName.

          1. From Setup in your sandbox, enter Outbound Change Sets in the Quick Find box, then select Outbound Change Sets.
          2. In the Change Sets list, click the name of a change set, or create a new one.
          3. In the Change Set Components section, click Add.
          4. From the Component Type dropdown list, select and add Reports and Dashboards to the change set.
          5. To add dependent components, click View/Add Dependencies and choose the components you want to add.
          6. Click Add to Change Set.
          7. In the change set’s detail page, click Upload.
          8. In the production org, from Setup, enter Inbound Change Sets in the Quick Find box, then select Inbound Change Sets.
          9. Click Deploy next to the change set containing the semantic model report and dashboard components.
