Connect your web and mobile apps to Data Cloud to collect customer engagement data.
This data helps you customize messages, create automations, or support AI projects. After it’s
connected, set up data streams to ingest your data into Data Cloud, allowing you to access and
query this data for various uses.
Note These instructions apply to mobile apps and websites that don't use Google Analytics 4
(GA4). To ingest GA4 data from your sites into Data Cloud, see Connect a Website with Google Analytics 4 (Beta).
Step 1: Connect a Website or Mobile App to Data Cloud
First connect your mobile applications and website source. By connecting your mobile
applications and website sources, you can capture online data and control the scope of data
ingestion and activation.
Create a connection in Data Cloud Setup (System Admin Profile).
Build data capture rules (or sitemap).
Create event definitions (also called a schema).

Step 2: Capture Engagement Data
To capture engagement data, add a JavaScript beacon script (or CDN script) to your
website or app code.
Copy the provided beacon.
Add the beacon to your website (Web Developer).
Step 3: Create a Data Stream
Create a data stream to initiate the flow of data from a website or mobile app.
We use three kinds of cookies on our websites: required, functional, and advertising. You can choose whether functional and advertising cookies apply. Click on the different cookie categories to find out more about each category and to change the default settings.
