          Chatter Questions Overview

          Extend the best possible Experience Cloud self-service site by promoting engagement internally and externally with questions in Chatter.

          Required Editions

          Available in both: Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience
          Available in: Essentials, Group, Professional, Developer, Performance, Enterprise, Contact Manager, and Unlimited Editions

          With Chatter Questions, users can ask questions in their Chatter feed, in groups, and in records. Select Question from the Chatter publisher’s action menu, or click the Question tab. After a question is asked, moderators and the person who asked the question can select a best answer. The best answer is prominently displayed in the feed, allowing other users to quickly and easily find the information they need.

          Your users can organize their information with the question title and details about their question. They can ask the question to their followers, to a group, or to a specific person, as they can with other Chatter feed items.

          Chatter Question

          To enable Chatter Questions in your organization, add the Question action to the global publisher layout. If your organization was created after Summer ‘14, the Question action is automatically added. Nonetheless, we recommend that you drag it to the far left of the layout to increase its visibility. If you’re using a customized publisher layout in groups or on records, make sure that the Question action is added to those layouts as well.

          Chatter Desktop doesn’t support Chatter Questions.

          Chatter Questions Mobile Limitations

          Not every Lightning Experience feature is in the Salesforce mobile app. Find out what’s different between Chatter Questions on desktop and on mobile.

          When using Chatter Questions, you can’t:

          • See similar questions and knowledge articles when you ask questions.
          • Select best answers.

          Chatter Questions isn’t fully supported in Salesforce for Android and Salesforce for iOS. When coworkers ask questions, you can see who posted but the text of the question isn’t displayed. You can see any answers to the question, however.
