          Document Libraries

Store files without attaching them to records.

          • Document Library Overview
Each document that is stored in the document library resides in a folder. The folder’s attributes determine the accessibility of the folder and the documents within it.
          • Documents Home
Click the Documents tab to display the documents home page. If the Documents tab is not visible, you can customize your display to show it. The Documents tab is not part of Salesforce CRM Content.
          • View Document Lists
The documents list page displays a list of documents in a selected folder. From this page, you can view detailed document information or manipulate the document.
          • Upload and Replace Items on the Documents Tab
You can store documents and images on the Documents tab without attaching them to records. You can then use these items in your Salesforce org, such as when creating an email template.
          • Search for Documents
Searching returns a list of documents that match all your search terms. Search results are listed in order of the closest matches.
          • Delete Documents
When you delete a document, Salesforce stores it in the Recycle Bin.
          • Moving Documents to Salesforce Files
As you make the move to Lightning Experience, you may have questions about the files you have stored in the Documents tab in Salesforce Classic.
          • Document Properties
The documents you upload through Chatter have a set of properties that you can see and interact with.
          • Create and Edit Document Folders
Create document folders and set their visibility so that users have the correct access level.
