Salesforce Files

On the Files tab, organize and access your files.

Note Beginning in Summer ’26, Chatter is turned off by default in all new orgs. For any features in these orgs that require access to Chatter functionality or the Chatter APIs, turn on Chatter by going to Setup | Chatter Settings and selecting Enable. For details, see Chatter Is Turned Off by Default in New Orgs Beginning in Summer ’26.

• Work with Salesforce Files
  Use Salesforce Files to share and collaborate on files, store files privately, manage version updates, and follow files that are important to you. Use Files Connect to connect to external file systems right from Salesforce.
• Files Home
  Files Home is the central location of your files in Salesforce. See all files that you’ve stored privately, view files that are shared with you, and share files with others.
• Upload Files
  Upload files to Files home, feeds, and records.
• Upload a New Version of a File
  Replace an old version of a file by uploading a new version.
• Malware Scanning for Salesforce Files
  Files are scanned for viruses or other malware when they’re uploaded or downloaded. New files are scanned when users upload them, and uploads are blocked when a file is malicious. Any existing malicious files in your org are listed in the Malicious Files list in Files home.
• Search for Files
  There are a few ways to find the file you’re looking for. You can search from the global header at the top of your browser. You can use a feed search. And you can use the files-specific search field on Files home.
