Order Management supports both managed and static shipping carriers. The managed
shipping carriers are Canadian Post, FedEx, Royal Mail, UPS, and USPS. A shipping carrier method
is a specific method that transports a product or order to its destination. For example, an org
that uses the shipping carrier FedEx has the shipping carrier methods FedEx Overnight, FedEx
Priority, and FedEx Ground.
Shipping carrier data powers the Delivery Estimations feature. Order Management works
directly with managed shipping carriers to provide accurate transit times. If you use a static
shipping carrier with Delivery Estimations, it defaults to the information that’s entered
during shipping setup.
In the Carrier Management tab of Order Fulfillment Setup, click Add a
Shipping Carrier Method or New.
Select a shipping carrier. If you don’t have any shipping carriers created, click the
Shipping Carrier field and select New Shipping
Carrier.
Select a managed shipping carrier.
Select which country your carrier ships from.
Enter a name and external reference for the carrier.
Click Save.
Select a Managed Shipping Carrier Method. This establishes the connection between the
shipping provider’s delivery times and your org.
The method is unmanaged if you leave this field empty. Leaving this field empty
doesn’t impact other methods from the same shipping carrier.
Enter a name for your shipping carrier method.
Enter an external reference for your shipping carrier method.
Select the scope of your shipping. Scope determines whether orders ship domestically,
internationally, or both.
Enter static shipping information, including minimum and maximum transit times and
transit time units.
Click Add Locations.
You can select a location group, individual locations, or both.
