          Order on Behalf Of Setup

          Order on Behalf Of Setup

After you’ve installed and configured either an Order Management or B2B Commerce org or B2C Commerce instance, there are some Order on Behalf Of (OOBO) specific steps to take. Many of these tasks are the same whether you’re using Order Entry or OOBO. However, there are a few steps that are specific to the individual products. Complete the steps for your product and organization.

          Tip
Tip For video instructions on the Order on Behalf Of setup, visit the Salesforce Support YouTube channel. See the Order on Behalf Of series.
          1. Set Up Prerequisites for Order on Behalf Of
There are a few prerequisites necessary before you can set up Order on Behalf Of for your org.
          2. Configure a Delivery Method for Order on Behalf Of
To ensure that orders are consistently mapped from B2C Commerce, configure the delivery methods in your org that correspond to the shipping methods in your storefront.
          3. Webstores for Order on Behalf Of (Optional, B2C OOBO Only)
To create orders that aren’t already being pulled in from a storefront through integration, create a webstore. If you’re using B2B Commerce or D2C Commerce, your webstores are already configured.
          4. Activate the Order on Behalf Of Flow Template
The Order on Behalf Of flow lets a customer service representative use OOBO or Order Entry to create an order on behalf of a customer. To use the flow, copy and activate the flow template, and then customize the flow as needed.
          5. Add the Order on Behalf Of Flow to an Object Page
Give users easy access to the Order on Behalf Of flow by adding it to the Actions & Recommendations component on a Lightning page for an object. Because all orders are associated with an account, add the flow to the Actions and Recommendations component on the account page.
          6. Add Country and State Picklists for Order on Behalf Of (Optional)
To let customer service representatives (CSR) select state and country codes for an address from a dropdown menu, enable state and country picklists. If you don’t enable picklists, the CSR must enter the state and country code into the address, which can introduce errors.
          7. Connect B2C Commerce and Salesforce (B2C OOBO Only)
To get product and pricing data from B2C Commerce, set up a connection between B2C Commerce and your Salesforce org.
          8. Add a Web Store Inventory Source for Order on Behalf Of
To use reservations when placing an order on behalf of a shopper, add a web store inventory source. Reservations help reduce out-of-stock errors by holding a product as soon as it’s placed in a cart.
          9. Payments for Order on Behalf Of
Processing payments is an integral part of the Order on Behalf Of process. Whether you’re using Order Entry or OOBO with Order Management, you need a payment service. You can find payment activity in the order payment summary for each order.
