          When processing a return, you can process a simple return and issue a refund or create a return order and return merchandise authorization.

          Required Editions

          Your business processes and the ways that customers initiate returns determine how you process returns.

          If a customer returns an item directly to you without prior notification, you process a simple return and issue a refund immediately.

          If a customer contacts a service agent or uses a self-service portal to initiate a return, you have two options.

          • You can process a simple return and issue a refund immediately.
          • You can create a return merchandise authorization (RMA). With an RMA, you can create a return order, track the return, and verify the quantity and condition of the returned items before you issue a refund.
          Note
          Note Salesforce D2C Commerce doesn’t include RMA functionality. It can process only simple returns.
