The Sales Channel object represents an order source, such as a web storefront, physical
store, marketplace, or mobile app. If you use Salesforce B2C Commerce, we recommend creating a
sales channel record for each site in your B2C Commerce implementation.
Note Depending on your page layout and field-level security settings, some fields aren’t
visible or editable.

External Channel Number
The external system identifier for the sales channel.
Sales Channel Name
The name of the sales channel.
Type
The type of the sales channel. Each type corresponds to one type category.
Possible
values are:

You can customize the type values to represent your business processes, but the type
category values are fixed because some order processing is based on those
values.
