          Delete a Connected App

          Delete a Connected App

You can delete a connected app that you created. But if you delete a connected app, you can’t restore it. Don’t delete a connected app that’s associated with an active managed package.

Available in: both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience

Connected Apps can be created in: Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions

Download AppExchange Packages AND Customize Application AND either

Modify All Data OR Manage Connected Apps

          Note
Note Connected apps creation is restricted as of Spring ‘26. You can continue to use existing connected apps during and after Spring ‘26. However, we recommend using external client apps instead. If you must continue creating connected apps, contact Salesforce Support.

See New connected apps can no longer be created in Spring ‘26 for more details.

When you remove a connected app that’s a component of a package, the app remains available until you update the package with a new version. But if you delete the connected app, it’s permanently deleted. Any version of the managed package that contains the deleted connected app is invalidated and can’t be installed. You can update a version of the package that doesn’t contain the connected app as a component. Never delete a connected app that Salesforce distributes, such as the Salesforce mobile app.

          Note
Note For connected apps created in Spring ’14 or later, you can reuse the name of a deleted connected app.
          Important
Important Before deleting a connected app, double-check that it’s not contained in an active managed packaged.
          1. From Setup, enter Apps in the Quick Find box, then select App Manager.
          2. Locate the connected app, click Action dropdown, and then select View.
          3. Click Delete, and click Delete again to confirm.
