          Rebuild Streaming Transform Target Objects

          Rebuild Streaming Transform Target Objects

Rebuild a streaming transform target object to ensure data consistency.

Streaming transforms take data from a source object, transform it, and write the output to a new object. If a system error occurs during processing, the output object's data may be incomplete. Rebuilding the transform target object reprocesses all the source data and generates new results for the target.

Another situation where rebuilding is useful is when a streaming transform is edited. Editing a transform applies to new records. Existing records in the output are not affected. If you want to apply the changes to all records, the transform target object must be rebuilt.

          1. From the Data Transforms records page, select Rebuild from the drop down menu. This Rebuilds the target object that the data transform writes to.
          2. Run the rebuild.
            • If there’s only transform writing to the target object, confirm the rebuild and click Run.
            • If there’s more than one transform writing to the same target object, you’re prompted to Continue and select the transform order for which the target object should be rebuilt. The order of the transforms is important because running one transform could overwrite the data that has already been written by a previous transform. After selecting the order, click Run.
          3. View the refresh history page to track the progress of the data rebuild, which may take some time depending on the amount of data. During the rebuild process, the Last Run Status changes to Rebuild Pending and then to Rebuilding.
The rebuild deletes existing records in the target object and reprocesses records from the source object. The target object remains unchanged throughout the rebuild process. During this time, transforms that write to the target object can’t be created or deleted.
