          Authoring Methods for Insights

          Authoring Methods for Insights

Design and implement insights using visual building tools or direct SQL syntax to meet specific analytical requirements. Authors can transform raw data by joining, aggregating, or filtering datasets through node-based workflows and streaming functions. With these methods you can clone existing logic, save drafts, and apply complex SQL operators to generate real-time or calculated metrics. You gain the flexibility to build sophisticated data models from scratch or use pre-configured packages for faster deployment.

          • Create Insights from Templates
Create Data 360 Insights efficiently using templates. To simplify insight creation, templates validate the required Data 360 DMOs, ask simple configuration questions, and set up your new insight.
          • Build Data Insights with the User Interface
Create metrics in Data 360 with Visual Insight Builder. Insight Builder is a business-analyst focused and user-friendly metrics authoring tool that can be found in the Calculated Insights tab in Data 360.
          • Create a Calculated Insight from a Package
Create a calculated insight from an installed Salesforce package in Data 360.
          • Use SQL to Create Insights
Write SQL to define calculated and streaming insights in Data 360. Each query must follow a specific structure and use supported functions, operators, and data types.
          • Save an Insight as a Draft
When creating a calculated insight using Insight Builder or SQL Expression Builder, you can save it as draft and continue to make updates until you publish it. You can then validate the calculated insight when you’re ready to deploy it. However, you can’t save an existing calculated insight as a draft while editing it.
          • Clone an Insight
Create a calculated insight using metrics from an existing insight. You can duplicate the SQL function from the calculated insights record in Data 360 and edit the attributes such as dimensions and filters.
