          Automapping

          Automapping

Automapping in Data 360 maps data lake object (DLO) fields to the correct data model object (DMO) fields. When you choose a specific DMO during field mapping, Data 360 calculates and applies the field mappings. You can then make any necessary changes and save the mappings.

Data 360 suggests mappings based on these considerations:

          • Historical Data - Previously mapped field pairs are used to suggest mapping recommendations.
          • String Comparisons - DLO and DMO fields with similar names are a good match. String comparisons are done using a combination of exact match, standardized match, and fuzzy match. If two strings are identical they’re exact matches. The fuzzy match technique identifies terms that are similar but not identical and allows minor differences in spelling, format, or structure. It helps in comparing strings with slight variations. Standardized match applies a consistent format or structure to strings before comparing them.
          • Synonyms - Common synonyms of DLO field names are included in comparisons. For example when suggesting mappings for a DLO field subscriber key, its synonym Individual ID is also considered to compare and map.

The mapping suggestions improve over time. Data type compatibility is maintained. For example, a boolean field in DLO is mapped to a boolean field in DMO.
