Build and Share Data 360 Functionality

Extend the use of Data 360 by creating and installing data kits and packages in other orgs and environments. Set up a Data 360 sandbox to test functionality before building in your production environment.

          Note
          Note

As of October 14, 2025, Data Cloud has been rebranded to Data 360. During this transition, you may see references to Data Cloud in our application and documentation. While the name is new, the functionality and content remains unchanged.

          • Packaging in Data 360
A package can contain small individual components or a large set of related apps. You create a data kit with the packageable features and add the data kit to a package. You can distribute this package to other Salesforce users and orgs, including people outside your company.
          • Code Extension
Bring your custom Python code into Data 360 to extend Data 360's native capabilities using code extension. If the native Data 360 features don't meet your business requirements, deploy your custom logic across supported Data 360 features such as batch data transforms. For example, if you need advanced data transformations for your business use case, you can deploy custom business logic to Data 360 to implement your requirements.
          • Data Kits
Use a data kit in Data 360 to streamline package creation and installation. You can manage all packageable Data 360 features in the data kit. You can create data stream bundles and also include data model customization and relationships.
          • External Activation Platforms
Create and package an External Activation Platform to determine file formatting, required data details, or where to publish the files during activation. Share your package on AppExchange or provide the package URL generated in Package Manager for Data 360 admins to install.
          • Data 360 in a Sandbox
Use a Data 360 sandbox to test data ingestion, modeling, and identity resolution without affecting live customer profiles. A sandbox provides a secure testing environment by copying metadata from your production Data 360 org. Sandbox usage consumes credits from your production org.
          • White-label and Distribute a Connector
Use the metadata-based Data Cloud Connector Framework to package and white-label an existing connector, improving the discoverability of your product. To white-label a connector and distribute it, you configure a Salesforce project before publishing the managed package to AppExchange.
