Configure Communication Capping Parameters and Values
Define Communication Capping parameters such as channels and departments that are
relevant to your organization and business strategy. You must configure the capping parameters and
values before creating capping rules.
Click the gear icon, and then select Data Cloud Setup.
If you don’t see this option, refresh your page, or log out and log back in with your
admin user credentials.
In the Quick Find box, enter and select Communication Capping.
Under Enterprise Parameters, from the dropdown list, select the communication
channels.
To apply capping to specific lines of business or category, click Add New
Enterprise Parameter.
Select User defined, and enter a parameter name and values. You
can add up to two parameters. For example, if your organization handles multiple lines of
business, you could add Department as a user-defined parameter and add
values such as insurance, mortgage, credit card, etc. You can add up
to two parameters and arrange them in the preferred order by using the sorting icon.
To apply capping to a city, select City and enter the city names
in the Values field.
Under Functional Parameters, select how often you want to run capping rules.
Daily
Monthly
Limits are applied at both the profile and parameter levels.
Profile limits
apply rules to individual profiles. Use these to ensure compliance to regulations and prevent
message fatigue. For example, limit emails to 10 per day for any individual customer.
Dimension limits apply capping rules to all customers that fit certain parameter
values. Use these when managing budgets across multiple parameters. For example, limit emails
to 10000 per day for all HNI customers targeted by Insurance.
After defining the capping parameters and values, configure communication capping in Data
Cloud.
