          Create a Data Extension in Data 360

          Quickly create a data extension for Journey Builder API Events of a data action directly in Data 360. This automated process removes the need to go to Marketing Cloud Engagement.

          Required Editions

          Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
          User Permission Sets Needed
          To create a data extension in data action:

          One of these permission sets:

          • Data Cloud Architect
          • Data Cloud Activation Manager
          • Data Cloud Activation Specialist
          1. In Data 360, go to the Data Actions tab.
          2. Open a data action with draft status and click Create Data Extension.
          3. Click Create. The data extension is created in the folder path Data Extensions-> Salesforce CDP-> Data Actions Data Extensions in Marketing Cloud Engagement.
          4. Create a Journey builder API event in Marketing Cloud that uses this data extension name.
          5. In Data 360, edit the corresponding data action target and select the Journey Builder API Event that you created. After saving, the status of the data action target and the data action becomes active.
            • After the data extension is created, if the schema for the DMO or CIO attributes is updated, click Sync Data Extension to get the latest changes to the data extension.
            • The data extension created within Data 360 isn’t deleted if the corresponding data action and the data action target are deleted.
