Create a Segment from a Data Kit

Create a Segment from a Data Kit

Instead of creating a segment from scratch in Data 360, use a predefined segment from a data kit. You can edit and fine-tune the segment.

          Required Editions

Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
          Permission Sets Needed
          To create a segment:

Any one of these permission sets:

          • Data Cloud Architect
          • Data Cloud Activation Manager
          • Data Cloud Activation Specialist
          1. In Data Cloud, click Segments.
          2. Click New.
          3. Select Create from a Data Kit, and click Next.
          4. Select a data kit and a predefined segment.
If the segment has a child segment or calculated insight, make sure that the API name is the same as this segment.
          5. Click Next.
          6. Enter the segment details.
            1. Select a data space.
            2. For Segment On, select a data model object (DMO).
If you’re using a non-unified object, such as Account or Contact, the object is already chosen.
            3. Give your segment a unique, recognizable name and enter an optional description.
            4. Click Next and check the dependencies.
If the segment has dependency errors, contact your admin.
          7. Select a publish type and schedule.
          8. Click Save.
