          Create a Data Space

          Create a Data Space

Every Data Cloud org is created with a default data space. Until you create other data spaces, all Data Cloud objects are mapped to the default data space. To segregate your brand, region, or department data and services, create more data spaces.

          Required Editions

Available with add-on license: Data Spaces
          Permission Sets Needed

          System admin profile OR

          Data Cloud Architect permission set

          Note
Note The standard Data Cloud and Customer Data Platform licenses are limited to just one data space. To create additional data spaces, you must purchase an add-on license. For more information, see Data Cloud Standard Editions and Licenses.
          1. Go to Data Cloud Setup.
          2. Under Feature Management, click Data Spaces.
          3. Click New, and give the data space a unique name that identifies its brand, region, or department.
          4. Enter a unique data space prefix, starting with a letter and including up to three alphanumeric characters.

After you save the data space, you can’t change its prefix because it becomes part of the API name used to differentiate objects that exist in multiple data spaces.

For example, the Individual DMO is in two data spaces: data space 1 with prefix DS1, and data space 2 with prefix DS2. When the Individual DMO is mapped to the data spaces, the object API names are DS1_Individual_dlm and DS2_Individual_dlm.

          5. Add an optional description about the purpose of the data space.
          6. Click Save.
