Delete a Data Stream
You can delete a data stream in Data 360 if the connection is no longer needed.
When you delete a data stream, the underlying data lake object (DLO) containing all the data records provided by that data stream is also deleted. Before you delete the data stream you must free the underlying data lake object of all of its dependencies. Consider the following factors before deleting a data stream:
- The underlying DLO can’t be mapped to a data model object.
- The underlying DLO can't be used in a data transform.
- The data stream can’t be associated with a data kit.
Some connectors support conditional deletion, which means that you can delete the data stream without implicitly deleting the underlying DLO. If you choose a conditional delete for data streams, meaning you plan to retain the DLO, then you aren't bound by the first three factors listed previously. Conditional deletes are supported as long as the following conditions are met:
- The data stream uses S3, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure Storage, or SFTP connectors.
- A single data stream is being deleted, meaning it’s not a bulk delete operation.
- The data stream wasn't created from a managed package.
- Go to the Data Streams tab.
- Select the check box next to the data streams that you want to select for deletion.
- Click Delete Data Stream. If you choose to delete the underlying DLO, select Delete the associated data lake object. This option is supported only for data streams that use S3, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure Storage, or SFTP connectors.
- Click Delete.
