          Edit a Segment

          Edit a Segment

After you create a segment in Data 360, you can edit its rules or properties to provide updates or change the purpose. Changing the segment name doesn’t change the segment API name.

          Required Editions

Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.
          Permission Sets Needed
          To edit a segment:

Any one of these permission sets:

          • Data Cloud Architect
          • Data Cloud Activation Manager
          • Data Cloud Activation Specialist
          1. In Data Cloud, go to the Segments tab.
          2. Select your segment.
          3. To edit attribute rules or segment properties, click Edit Rules or Edit Properties.
If you don’t see these options, the segment was created via an API and only supports a limited set of actions.
          • Copy a Segment
In Data 360, you can copy an existing segment to populate it with the same filters and customizations as an existing segment.
          • Delete a Segment
Delete a segment if it’s no longer needed. If the segment is attached to an activation, delete the activation first.
          • Deactivated Segment
If a segment is no longer needed, it can be deactivated through Data 360 and applies to all chosen targets. A deactivated segment no longer publishes, can’t be chosen for an activation, and can’t be re-enabled. If you plan to use the segment again, stop the publish schedule instead.
